And the weather forecast for this week is sunny with a patches of showers...

Well after a hideous torrential long weekend (Happy Birthday Lizzy sorry we couldn't make your bash at the palace) the crew came to start laying out bricks on Tuesday!  Nice surprise as we had already decided on the mortar and were just about to let Joe know our decision to pass onto the brickie boss.  So as we were doing natural mortar they could just get stuck in after morning tea.  After checking the pallets we discovered that the black spotting on the bricks wasn't throughout our delivery as first thought (going from the sample B grades) but we ended up with a near perfect brick.  The only difference between the A grade and the B grade was a black gravel in the clay that didn't melt when they fired the bricks which created the black speckle. We both actually preferred that look as it was more organic so we have a nice consistant slightly rustic brick and not the plastic looking brick like the A grade can sometimes look like.  They put aside all the ones that had masses of the speckle very much like a slice of vogels multi grain. The medium speckle ones that are being laid have been nicely mixed in the with the near perfect ones brilliantly so far.  Well without further ado here are some pictures of our house being bricked!!!  Exciting!!!!
