Oh what a feeling...when we're dancin on the cement!

Well Joe and Kerrin have been working their little bums off on Good Friday and Joe was up there doing more of the frames today too.  There are only a few small walls left to go up inside the house and it looks fantastic!

Despite the rainy weather we decided to go up to see the house and christen the foundations by inviting our friends up to have a wee drink and partake in chips and dip too.  Thankfully someone had the good brains to take the gazebo there so we were sheltered from the intermittent drizzle.  The kids all had a great time getting wet and playing in and around the house and having a bit of a kick with the ball too... plus scoffing chips, chocolate and lemonade.  Good day was had by all I think.

It is so nice for Nath and I to share this exciting time with you all and really enjoyed the drizzly day with you at the house.  Unfortunately too much gabbing and taking tours through the house made me completely forget about getting the camera out to show anyone else looking at our build blog.  But I will head up there in the next day or so and snap a few pics as once the frame is done the drains are next to get sorted and then it will take another week till the trusses for the roof get put up.  Guess we will be up for a roof shout in a few weeks!! 

Slab slab slabby!

How exciting we have our floor poured and they have today delivered our frames for the house!!  The floor is drying and Joe and Kerrin have been marking out the walls getting ready to put some frames up tomorrow!!  So super excited!  Will drop off a few boxes of Amstel to the boys tomorrow morning and will pop up on Saturday weather permitting for a drink on the slab yippie!!!!

Hi ho...hi ho...It's off to work we go with shovel and a pick and a walking stick...hi ho hi ho

Well if you replace the walking stick with an excavator that is that song kind of holds true....
We are still rolling on with the build and thankfully the weather has held off for all the things that the builders needed dry weather for.  We had a hick up that has been sorted now and thankfully with only a bit of a delay we can carry on with things as per plan.  Joe and crew have dug the footings and poured them last week.  This week they have blocked on top of the footings and poured the concrete in them too.  Now the bobcat has come back and filled in the center of the footings with dirt and the fine gravel stuff to the top of the blocks.  While that happened Kerrin and Joe checked all the levels for where the floor will be poured inside where they have boxed up for the foundations to be poured next week!

So all things going well we will be having a wee drinkie on the slab over Easter weekend!! So the plumbers will be in on Tuesday to do the drains etc then fingers crossed and doing all the anti rain dances I can the floor will get poured on Wednesday.
