Hand over is tomorrow!!!

With the show home going so well last weekend and the state of the the house (near perfect) we paid our final bill to Joe and Nicki and we have brought the hand over day to Wednesday!  Then the mover truck will come on Friday at 9am to do all the bulk of the house move although me and Nath will be up and down to do fragile stuff and get loads out of the way so we can get the truck to do one load only this time!

Will love and leave you to get back to having a wee stress and brain strain at doing this move and boxing up more stuff. EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a Bittumnen, I'm a lover I'm a child, I'm a mother I'm a sinner, I'm a saint I do not feel asphalted!

This is getting harder to do the titles now as we are 1 week and 6 days from handover!!!  Nervous and anxious now!!!

So it finally got done and it looks great!  The girls and I went up to the house to open the garage door for them so they could get it under the garage door edge.  We stayed there all morning and they turned up at 1.00pm.  Just as well I had food, toys  for the girls and cleaning cloths so I could clean out my new fridge!

Will keep this short and sweet as I need to get kids to bed and start to clean and pack for an hour or so to make me feel better....who knows it may work!  Joe is going to use our house as a show-home after all!  So we can ship our new stools up and a few other bits to kind of stage the house a bit then it is less stuff for us to shift next week!

I'm starting with the man in the mirror

Gotta add one in from the King of pop aye...
Almost feel like I have nothing to add as bugger all has happened in the last 2 days...impatient I know!
But the boys from BOP Asphalt were there getting a better level on the base for the driveway etc and were just leaving at lunch time as I turned up with chocolate mint slice and ginger lemon slice to fatten them up with.  Unfortunately they won't be back till Friday to pour the asphalt and the boys from the concrete company came and cut and dug out the curb today and so that will be delayed for pouring till next week now.  Plus my grass man will be delayed by a week as well.

But I'll chuck a few pics on that you haven't seen before (I think) to pass the time so I don't feel like I am twiddling my thumbs.  Plus bought the 4 bedroom rods for the curtains which were 40% off yippie!  The Lounge rod/tracks are custom made jobbies so am waiting to get the call to say they are ready.  I am trying to find a measure guideline online to make New York (single) pleats on the curtains as they look nice and clean for a minimal look.  Searching searching.....

Our girls luxuriating on the new carpet

Go on now gooo...walk out the door...

Coz there are soooo many of them in the house now!  Little elves have been at work while we have been at home.  Joe has been up and put all the doors and handles on and all the door stops too.  It is kind of strange as you get used to the way the house looks with no carpet and no doors so we will have to get our heads around it.  Plus it will all change again when the furniture goes in.....IN 2 WEEKS AND 5 DAYS!!!!!

Why don't you come with me little girl on a magic carpet ride.

Ok a little drawn out on the title but blame Steppenwolf for his hippy yippy dippy lyrics...

So as spoken of in an earlier post we have carpet!  Only had my phone to take pictures as mysteriously the camera we got for Christmas has a tiny ding on the lens (frustrating!).  I will persevere with it though won't take any pics looking into the Sun.

Rolling rolling rolling raw drive

Such an exciting week as things look more complete inside and outside now.  We started with the last electrics getting fitted and the plumbing all done.  Tiling is done and dusted too and Joe had a good clean up inside and got rid of the rubbish and vacuumed the house out ready for Thursday for the carpet laying.

So it was all go on Thursday morning even the weather joined in and thoroughly chucked down with rain...sods flaming law!  But the carpet man (sorry didn't catch his name) was busy getting all the grip strips and underlay cut for the floors and the lovely boys from BOP Asphalt were there despite the horrible weather.  After marking out where the drive and paths were going and getting soaked in the process they managed to get the timber edging up by the front entrance before they decided to call it quits as the rain just didn't ease up at all.  As it was morning tea time the boys pulled out their pack ups and had a break I loitered around doing some chasing of subbies on the phone and then the best thing ever happened....It stopped raining!  Lucky us as they then got back into it and they had called the workshop to find everyone else from the company had abandoned ship for the day with the rubbish weather and gone home.  So by the end of the day they had finished doing all the timber edging and dug out where needed and compacted gravel here and there.  Ian from Reditile popped back to clean up the tiles surface in the ensuite and another bloke (Chris) came and installed both the bathroom mirrors.  Things are looking so nice in the bathrooms and kitchen now the tiling is done and Joe has unveiled the bench tops and tided up.

Friday we got up there about 1pm and the boys were at it again with more gravel and a bigger roller getting it compacted and leveled.  As we pulled into the street the carpet chap waved as he drove past and I assumed he would be going for lunch...well he made an ass out of you and me of course and we went inside to see he had finished!!  Looks so nice and it feels super soft and spongy underfoot.  Good old Cavalier Bremworth carpet in this new lofty loop pile which is divine to walk on.  The girls rooms being pink make the floors look darker but I'm sure once the beds and furnishings go in it will be better.  We are looking forward to the following week as the drives and paths will be done and the crossing will be cut and hopefully poured once the asphalt is done.

The asphalt boys are such a nice bunch of blokes and all worked so well together and always were joking and having a laugh which was nice to see as some of the crews who have been working on the house were a pack of right miserable buggers and made you feel like leaving the site....you know who you are you grumpy bastards!

Giggle giggle snicker snicker..... was my response to seeing the tiling in the Kitchen and our bathroom completed!!  Nice to feel like a sense of elation seeing something finished in the house looking so cool.  You do become a bit blase about the progress as you watch it bit by bit.  Even taking one day away from going up to the house yesterday meant we didn't watch the tiler finish the tile back splash or grout the ensuite tiles.  So we popped up today it was a lovely surprise to see it all done.  The bath is fitted in and they just need to fit the front panel on the bath cradle and then to be tiled.  But both toilets are in, vanities sinks and taps are in.  The kitchen has had the gas hob fitted, tap is on sink and the tiles on too although not grouted yet, they look wonderful!  Everything needs a good clean up but you'll get the idea.....
