Open the door get on the floor, everybody walk the lino floor.

We have now had all vinyl planking done and it looks fantastic!!  Boy we are really pleased that warmth in the floor colour has softened the white walls in the house.  I do love white walls but we have been looking at the concrete floor in the house since the slab went down and it has made it look very cold and I did worry I had gone a little to minimal in the kitchen with the white cupboards as well.  But now it is all good with the warmth of the flooring it looks fab!

The tiler has done the laying of the tiles in the ensuite floor and will be going up the walls this week and then will do the back splash in the kitchen too.  I will need to go look at the grout colour again as I cannot remember the colour I picked as that was so many months ago now, before we even signed our building contract.  So will go down and see Adele to make the choices.  Then he will be onto the tile on the bath front and top once the cradle is finished.

Yesterday we met up with Lance to go through the security system at the house and once all the carpet goes in we will be arming the alarm on so God help me if I forget and scare the daylights outta the kids with the siren going off...Geeezzz it is so loud!

So with Joe finishing off the cradle for the bath this week and the plumber doing the rest of the fit out soon we will have another massive change to how it all looks and it will be really exciting.

But wait there is more!  The fences have begun they started on Wednesday with all the post holes drilled and they finished concreting the posts in that day!  The only have done the back side of the house and will be coming back to fix the two last sections of fence as they decided to slope them on an angle.  I like onlt do straight things and they look terrible.  But other than the slight misunderstanding the fence looks really good.  They have set the palings back from the posts so that about a centimeter of the posts is forward from the fence (does that make sense?)  Well hope the pictures show you what I'm on about.

That is a long fence!

These are the sections of fence to be replaced

You're so vain (ity) I bet you sink this song is about you.

I think I am only amusing myself with these post titles.  I could have also run with a few other song lyrics that I slayed but I'll keep them to myself aye.

So as Joe promised the Vanity's have been hung in both bathrooms.  Tile guy John has put yet another coat of waterproofing in the ensuite floor and walls.  Nathan one of the lovely sparkys has fitted all the other lights and put the LED's in the hall and toilet.  The boys have started to lay the planking in the kitchen, dining and family room.  Plus the guy from Shower Man came and installed the shower in the main bathroom!  Busy day!  Things are coming together nicely with the house and the countdown is definitely on!

Ohh we gonna rock down to electric avenue and then we take it higher!

Our lovely Sparkys are back to fit out on the house!  Both heat pumps are installed and most of the sockets, switches and lights were in.  The flooring guy was in polishing and screading the floors to ensure they were level and smooth.  The tiler was doing the underfloor heating and water proofing the floor and shower.  He will start tiling on Monday so that will be super exciting!  No pictures as yet but will get onto that tomorrow maybe.

EXCITING!!!

Starry starry night, Paint your palette blue and gray...

Or in our case Waitoa Quarter and Winchester Half.

The painter is all finished painting and is all packed and gone!  The house still looked a right state yesterday as the floor still had crap and equipment everywhere.  We took some pictures and although it was lovely and bright and the girls rooms look a really subtle pink the pics came out grey instead of white and pasty pink.  Well here are the pictures to be underwhelmed with.

I got you Paved....Baby I got you paved ...I got you paved!

Sonny and Cher wouldn't approve and I never think anyone will tell them to read my blog either well not Sonny anyway.

We got all the quotes sorted for paving options and no sooner had I called the Cobble Kings they rang me the following day to say that they have an opening on Friday to get our patio done!  Whooooh hooooo!!!  I did do a quick dash to the site to double check our colour choice and they were there the following morning at 8.30 to start laying.  Thankfully as Joe has done the excavation and also laid gravel fines the job just needed to be leveled and they were ready to lay!  I thought with the wee downpour early on they may hold off on doing the job and I called them but it was all go.  By the time I got me and the kids ready and after we fluffed around we got up there just after 10.30.  I thought turning up a bit later in the morning they at least may have done some of it to show the kids.....errr understatement it was all done other than the last 5 or so that were being cut to go around the pillars!  It looks awesome too.  Very impressed with those guys.  They will be back to cover it in sand and compact it down later on as it was a bit too wet.

Just waiting for BOP Asphalt to call me back so I can book them in to do the driveway and the rest of the paths.  Then will get the driveway crossing laid.  So exciting now it is all going so fast.  Cliffy our painter will be getting it all painted out inside and will hopefully finish next Tuesday!

Roxx beeench you don't have to put on the red light....

Sadly obvious that one wasn't it.  I only managed to get a few pics on my phone of the Roxx top the other day after it had been installed as I forgot the camera in the excitement to get up there for the reveal.  It will look stunning with a bit of light on it to show the bling factor of the crystal in it and I forgot to put on the flash.  Derrr...  But until the painter has done his thing we will be sitting on our hands till he is done...or till he has a day off and we can sneak in for a look!  I went up yesterday and sprayed the utter snot out of all the weeds, gorse and anything that was pretending to be grass so hopefully it had enough time to sink in before the damn rain came down.  Things will be short and sweet and fairly thin on the ground for posts as the only thing we are thinking of is fences, drives and paths and the front garden.  Oh but I did go and buy our letterbox and the washing line!  Whooo hooo.

Jumping Jack flash is a gas gas gassssss!

More of a small note than anything else.  Gas lines got dug up and hooked up to the house with the meter attached to the side of the house.  Glad we got it done now as if we had waited much longer the driveway and paths would be compromised or just plain knackered.  Neighbours got their drive poured today and we discussed fencing with him which is great as we will need to get that sorted as the girls and Tilly the dog can't be left to go outside without the boundary's up.

There's a fraction too much Kitchen..la da da de da de da dah.... da da da

Wholly molley....that is a big kitchen!  You know it must be big when the builders, Kitchen designer, Gib stoppers and the Kitchen installer all say "that is a massive kitchen".  But it suits the space which is great and more importantly it looks fantastic!!  Yesterday he started and had done all of the other cabinetry today plus he installed the bench for the Computer Nook.  It looks very cool and has so much space.  The next thing is the Crystal Roxx top to go on tomorrow and then after we have been painted the appliances will be put in.  We do have the built in range hood already in the cabinetry and the undermount sink on the back bench.

Kerrin was putting the last of the window surrounds on today all ready for the painter to come and mask out the windows ready for the interior painting.  So we are on our last few days of access to the house as the Painter doesn't allow anyone to rock up when he is painting as the dust from coming in and out would ruin the paint job if it was wet and also the dust would create merry hell for any further coats floating around.  So we will be lost soles for a few weeks.

We have semi decided on what we will be doing for our drives and path areas...and I say semi as we are finding it hard to choose the surfacing for the patio area.  Asphalt out on the drive and the front path and maybe even down the back path to the back yard.  Then out the patio area we will maybe do (non committal statement) really big concrete pavers.  If not flagstones 450 x 450 then even bigger ones if possible.  We may decide to flagstone the path down the back too depending on price and colours available.

Here are the picks of the kitchen etc which is obviously still a bit of a mess and still will be till the house is painted and fitted out with plumbing and electrics.  Will have to organise serving notice on the rental and organising moving truck!

That corner needs a coffee machine.

Love the bench top laminate albeit dusty

The Island awaiting Roxx top and microwave too!

I say old chap big kitchen wot wot!

Dishwasher hole and I love my 5 x meter long overhead cupboards!

That is the cleanest oven I've ever seen..so clean it's invisible.

Pantry's and large hole for our awesome French door fridge...geeez I'm a lucky girl!!
